About Structolution
Hi, I am Bart van Rhijn, the founder of Structolution. Thanks for stopping by.
As a structural engineer, I have always been fascinated by building and problem-solving. But throughout my work, I often found myself frustrated with overly complex software and the time spent on repetitive manual calculations. I knew there had to be a better, more intuitive way to get the reliable numbers we need every day.
That is why I created Structolution. I wanted to build the tools I always had being clear, efficient, and accessible from anywhere. This platform is the direct result of that idea: to bridge the gap between complex engineering principles and the practical need for quick, accurate answers.

LinkedInMy Expertise
Before making the tools I gained real-world experience and that knowledge is put into the calculators and resources on this site. My background covers a wide range of projects, including:
- Finite Element Analysis: Performing detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for complex structures, with a heavy focus on steel structures.
- Least weight structures: Investigating optimization methods like the Ground Structure Method to design for maximum efficiency.
- Residential renovations: Handling all kind of calculations required for adding an additional floor, removal of load-bearing walls and other home transformations.
- New build homes: Providing comprehensive structural calculations for new residential constructions, from foundation to roof.
- Industrial structures: Designing robust and efficient steel industrial halls.
My Philosophy
My goal is simple: to make awesome tools that I love to use (and hopefully you too). I believe a good tool should feel like a natural extension of your own thinking. I handle the complex math in the background so we can focus on what truly matters: designing and building great things.
I am always developing new tools and resources. Have a look around, and please feel free to reach out with any feedback or ideas! Below each calculation tool is a feedback form where you can leave your email.
